A Nation Under God sales rising with debate

The book A Nation Under God, written to respond to Michael Newdow's lawsuit, is rising as the debate is taking hold of America.

(PRWEB) October 1, 2004

Ken Clifton wrote his book, A Nation Under God, to respond to Michael Newdow's lawsuit to remove "under God" from the Pledge of allegiance. “America's religious heritage has been under attack for some time, but, for me, it has gone too far,” says Clifton. “Religious censorship out of schools has created a society where many non-religious individuals grew up unaware of our religious heritage, and I wanted to do something about that.”

The result was a book containing official acknowledgements of God from every President and every state, as well as many other founders, leaders, and citizens. There is also a chapter of religious heritage quotes and current examples of religion in government.

“I wanted to leave no doubt in people's mind of the depth and breadth of our religious heritage,” says Clifton. “It's not new, and its breadth includes every political party, country region, and economic class.”

Sales of A Nation Under God have increased since the publication date, with a 600,000 point rise in the sales ranking barnesandnoble.com. Clifton attributes this sales increase to the issue. "People are talking about the issue, because Mr. Newdow brought it up," Clifton says. “There is no doubt his lawsuit has benefited religious heritage knowledge nationwide in a significant way, as people look for facts on the issue to make up their own mind.”

With new pledge lawsuits in the works by Newdow and other lawsuits targeting religious symbols nationwide, there is little doubt demand for books like A Nation Under God will continue to rise in the years to come.

A Nation Under God (ISBN 1-58961-267-1) is published by Pagefree Publishing, distributed by Ingram, and can be found at most online sellers (such as Barnes and Noble), by special order at Barnes and Noble and Hastings store locations, or other select stores.
