OneMedPlace announces "OneMedForum 2009" finance conference for emerging medtech companies : Second annual event to be held January 13-14, 2009, in San Francisco

OneMedPlace announced today that its “OneMedForum 2009” finance conference for emerging medtech companies will be held January 13-14, 2009, in San Francisco at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel. The goal of the second annual OneMedForum event is to be a vital resource for emerging medtech companies and medtech investors. Toward that end, the two-day OneMedForum event will include industry-focused panel sessions, numerous networking opportunities, and 50 company presentations.

NEW YORK (Business Wire EON) November 19, 2008 -- "This event fills an important need to connect promising companies with the investment community," said Casey McGlynn, Co-Chairman of the OneMedForum Advisory Committee and Chair of the Life Sciences practice at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosatti, a law firm that is deeply involved in medical technology venture finance. "We are pleased with the response from top venture funds who will be participating in our panels. Firms such as Kleiner Perkins, Delphi Ventures, Latterell Ventures and others will join some of the business development execs from the largest device manufacturers to discuss future opportunities in major areas of medical technology."

Co-sponsors of "OneMedForum 2009" include: AdvaMed MedTech 2009; Dorsey & Whitney LLP (founding sponsor); European Tech Tour Association; Hercules Technology Growth Capital; IDA Ireland; Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA); Medtech Development; National Business Incubator Association (NBIA); Ronald Trahan Associates Inc. (RTA); Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati; and, Windhover Information.

"San Francisco, in early January, is the place to be if you're in the healthcare industry," added Brett Johnson, President of OneMedPlace, organizer of the OneMedForum event. "Many of the country's healthcare executives and investors attend the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference, which will be held, literally, across the street from our event. Ours is unique in that we focus on emerging private companies and small cap public companies that typically aren't able to participate in JP Morgan's annual event. We're already registering investors, and we expect to soon reach capacity for our venue.

"If you are the chief executive of an emerging medtech company, or an investor looking to identify 'the next big thing' in medtech, then OneMedForum is the place for you on January 13th and 14th, 2009," said Johnson. "The Sir Francis Drake Hotel provides an ideal home base in San Francisco for those in town that week. Throughout the two-day OneMedForum event, promising private companies and public companies with market caps below $500 million and limited research coverage will be making formal presentations. We've been reaching out aggressively to our network to identify the most promising companies to invite to apply to participate."
