Do You Know Where Your Husband Is? 4 Things You Can Do to Help Other Women
(PRWEB) October 7, 2004 -- A startling 59% of men who pick up prostitutes are married, more than three-quarters of whom state that they are satisfied with their partner at home. Further, most men visiting prostitutes believe that it is wrong, would not want their son to use a prostitute, nor their daughters to become one. While ideally she would like to stop men from frequenting prostitutes, Becky Due, author of "The Gentlemens Club: A Story for All Women "(Due Publications, www.CommitToYourself.com), realizes that she is FAR more likely to empower women to help other women. The key to changing the lives of women and reducing things like prostitution is for women to make a commitment to do one thing that will improve the lives of women and children." She asserts. Here are some ideas:
1. Write one letter a year about some injustice toward women and children. Send this letter to your Congressperson or Senator. You can also send it to your local newspaper as a Letter to the Editor. 2. Boycott something. If you see a commercial that is degrading to women write the company as to why you will no longer use their product and stop buying it. 3. Make a point to help other women whenever you can - even in small ways. 4. Tell your nieces and daughters they are smart and talented more often than you tell them they are cute and pretty (the cute and pretty goes without saying)!
Molested when she was eleven, married to an abusive man and eventually homeless, Due came very close to becoming a prostitute or stripper. Instead she reached out for help and found it. Now committed to making life better for other women she urges women to help other women. Face it, life is not like the movies, a man is not going to come along and rescue these women like Richard Gere in Pretty Woman and unless we do something these young women will die out there; most are already emotionally dead."
