Rembrandts Creates a Restaurant Masterpiece

Rembrandts restaurant announces the opening of three new dining areas.

PHILADELPHIA, PA (PRWEB) October 7, 2004 -- Rembrandts restaurant, long a tradition in fine dining and casual fare in the citys Fairmount section, announces the opening of three new dining areas.

Rembrandts intimate banquet room boasts a breath-taking view of the Philadelphia skyline while seating 80 comfortably. Adjacent to this new dining area is a charming cocktail lounge, featuring a gas-burning fireplace and antique mantel. This area seats 30-40 guests with ease and can be used alone or in conjunction with the banquet room.

During the day, Rembrandts Café, on Rembrandts ground level, serves as a coffee bar, showcasing the delicious craft of in-house pastry chef, Melissa King. Morning eye-openers include over-stuffed muffins, butter-rich pound cakes, and, in addition to other delectable items, a large selection of cookies and biscotti.

In the evening, the Café functions as a full-service non-smoking bar. The highlight of the Café is a turn-of-the-century bar which hails from the original Strawbridge and Clothier department store in Center City Philadelphia. It is a nice companion to Rembrandts other 1915 mahogany bar featured in their vintage bar and grill area.

Rembrandts main dining room houses amber stained-glass windows, architectural lighting and linen table coverings. Rembrandts also offers a seasonal outdoor café, for relaxed dining under the warm glow of antique street lamps and potted flora.

Of Rembrandts, The Philadelphia Inquirers Craig La Ban says, poised to become an all-purpose neighborhood megalith. A large new kitchen is making fabulous wood-fired pizzas, a new upstairs banquet room offers a stunning view of Center City, and theres even a smoke-free bar/café next door."

Chef Peter McAndrews oversees the vast array of culinary selections that Rembrandts has to offer, be it a simple wood-fired clam pizza or horseradish-encrusted Dijon salmon filet. Proprietor Jan Zarkin believes that a restaurant should provide friendly camaraderie, lively entertainment, and delicious food at a fair price.
