StatCrunch Offers Online, User-Friendly Solution for Students

Pearson Enhances Statistics Education through Partnership with Integrated Analytics

Boston, Mass (PRWEB) November 24, 2008 -- College students can now breathe a lot easier when it comes to their statistics courses.

Through a partnership with Integrated Analytics LLC, Pearson (www.pearson.com) announced that it will be the exclusive distributor of StatCrunch.com, (www.statcrunch.com) web-based software that allows students to perform complex statistical analysis more simply and effectively.

Students can type data directly into the user-friendly program, or load text and Excel files from their computers or found on the internet. This data will then be stored under the "MyData" listing for quick, one-step access. Analyzing data is possible through a number of different statistical routines. The software creates interactive graphs, generates reports, and students can easily save, copy/paste, or print StatCrunch results.

StatCrunch also includes an online, social networking community. Students post their analyses online, and receive comments on their work.

StatCrunch was developed by a team of programmers and statisticians led by Professor Webster West of Texas A&M University.

"I am very excited about the StatCrunch partnership with Pearson," said Professor West. "The Pearson technology infrastructure in terms of hardware and support will provide StatCrunch users with a much better experience, while bringing StatCrunch to a much wider audience."

"StatCrunch is an innovative online solution that helps students navigate the complex world of statistics, and makes teachers' jobs a little easier," said Linda Davis, president of science and math at Pearson. "This partnership represents a continuation of Pearson's efforts to use the best technology to make significant advances in education around the globe."
