RV Boom Generates Need for Internet Communities

Keystone Camping is an internet community for past, present and future owners of Keystone RV's. The goal of Keystone Camping is to provide a "one stop shop" for people looking to gain more insight into Keystone RV's.

"With the wealth of information about all brands of RV's on the web, it became very apparent to me that there needed to be a place to get information for specific brands", said Mike Hearn. Mike continued, "I started the web site actually after I bought my first Keystone RV travel trailer. I was looking to get more information on the brand, and I figured what better way to do that than by starting a community for Keystone RV owners". It would appear that Mr. Hearn is not alone in his quest for information. His website has over 500 registered users in only six months of existance, and the number of hits his site gets continues to grow.

Keystone Camping has a message forum for members to use where they can ask and/or answer questions as well as share their general experiences with the other members of the site. There are also links to dealer locators and owners manuals for the various products in the Keystone RV line as well as other information tools. One of the more trivial, yet enjoyable aspects of the site is a photo gallery where members can post photos of their units and modifications that they have made. "We have a really great community of users with some good ideas of how to modify their units. The photo gallery simply gives them a place to show off their work", Mike says.

While not as big as other sites Keystone Camping continues to grow fast and has a very loyal member base. "Our members are simply awesome. I am aware that there are much larger sites out their, and that is fine. I am not trying to monopolize the online RVing community in any way. I just saw a need for honest information on a specific brand, and I pursued it. Our members are very knowledgable and quite frankly more hospitable than other sites, and I think it shows by the participation we continue to get", explained Mr. Hearn. With the continued growth of the site Mike has some big things planned. While the site is not affiliated in any way with the manufacturer of Keystone RV's, or any of their dealers, he would like to see some participation from the manufacturer and dealers in certain areas. He sees his site as a possible conduit for information to and from the manufacturer and dealers. "We have a lot of plans for the site. As the popularity continues to grow, I envision those things coming to fruition a lot sooner", Mike added.
