Las Vegas Gets a 50's Twist at Greater Philadelphia Casino Night to Benefit Free South Jersey Clinic for Children with No Health Insurance

Marlton, NJ -- The Childrens Healthcare Foundation of South Jersey (CHF)makes children a winner in every hand at Viva Las Vegas! 3rd Casino Night/Auction Gala," on Friday, October 29, 2004, at the Mansion on Main Street, Voorhees, NJ, with doors opening at 6:30pm for VIP guests and 7pm for the general public. The fundraiser benefits programs and services for the health and well being of South Jersey children, including a one-of-a-kind healthcare clinic for children with no health insurance and a program that provides ow/no cost vision services to children with no insurance. Enjoy a night of the most popular casino games in the country, spirits and food, live entertainment and prizes - all to help children who need it most.

Festivities will transport attendees to a vintage Vegas casino" where they

can play poker, black jack, roulette, slot machines and craps, as well as

enjoy heavy hors doeuvres, open bar, vintage Vegas martinis, Hollywood

cocktails, dessert and coffee. Live entertainment includes a special tribute

to Elvis by famed entertainer Michael OConnor performing Reflections of

Legend." Other themed entertainment includes vintage Vegas music, 50s

cigarette girls, Vegas showgirls, a silent auction, contests, souvenir

pictures in Marilyn Monroes movie corner, and caricature portraits in a

vintage Vegas or 50s/60s settings by Barbara Thornton...Art.

Prizes to be awarded or sold in the auction include the grand prize of a

golf/ski weekend for the family at a choice of destinations around the

United States valued between $800-$1,000. A complete list of auction items

box seats to the Philadelphia 76ers, autographed sports memorabilia, opera

tickets, a VIP Disney on Ice package, super box seats to the circus, six

memorabilia.

children who have no health insurance, no financial means and no where else

Since 1986, more than $440,000 has been awarded by the CHF in grants,

programs and services. Proceeds from Viva Las Vegas" benefit general CHF

programs and services, as well as grants to the Pediatric Healthcare

Outreach Program (HOP) and Camden Eye Centers Sight First for Kids." The

Pediatric HOP Clinic, in association with Cooper University Hospital, is a

free pediatric clinic supported by volunteer medical students and pediatric

attendings/ residents of UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School of Camden.

It is the only clinic of its type in the Camden area to provide pediatric

care free-of-charge to those in Camden without health insurance. The clinic

provides not only healthcare, but also medications. The CHF is the primary

financial collaborator on this project.

The Sight First for Kids" program is a comprehensive program for children

up to eighteen years old. Free eye care services, examinations, treatments

and prescription eye wear are provided for eligible children from

underserved, low income and uninsured families in Camden City, Camden County

and surrounding areas. The Amblyopia (Lazy Eye)" program component of the

Sight First for Kids" program, has reached over 7,000 children ages six

months thru six years during the last three years in an effort to detect

this childhood vision disorder that is the primary cause of vision

impairment, monocular vision impairment in children.

Viva Las Vegas!" is presented by the CHF, with support from sponsors: Acorn

Cicalese, Wilson & Co.; Bob Meyer Communities; and the Childrens Regional

Hospital at Cooper University Hospital. In-kind support is being provided by

Tickets are $75, or $100 for the event, preview party and souvenir. Young

professional tickets are available for those 32 and under, and cost $65, or

$90 for the event, preview party and souvenir. Packages of ten tickets,
