Send Technology Announces First User-Friendly E-Mail Encryption Service for Businesses and Individuals

Easy-to-use Send.™ free secure e-mail for protecting confidential information now readily available to small- to medium-size business and individual e-mail users.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) November 24, 2008 -- Personal financial consultants and accountants won't do it. It's out of bounds for financial institutions. Health care providers would never think of it. It's something never done by any military organization. The 'it' is the e-mailing of unencrypted confidential or sensitive information. While large corporate and governmental users of e-mail have had various means of sending secure e-mail (http://www.sendinc.com) messages and attachments for some time, individuals and small- to mid-size businesses have been forced to either use slower and less convenient alternatives to e-mail or risk information security by using common, unprotected Internet e-mail. Unfortunately, attaching a "CONFIDENTIALITY DISCLAIMER" message is not a solution to this problem.

Send Technology, Inc., a provider of advanced e-mail messaging and collaboration tools, today is announcing the release of Send.™, a new Web-based service that enables any e-mail user to securely exchange confidential messages and attachments via the Internet without any special technical expertise.

Send. was created to be easy to use for both message senders and recipients. Senders open their favorite Internet browser and navigate to www.sendinc.com. After completing a first-time registration, they enter their own e-mail address, the recipient's address, message and any attachments, and then press the send button. Recipients receive a regular e-mail message from the sendinc.com site with an attached notification message. Following simple instructions in the e-mail, they complete a similar first-time registration and then access the secure message and any attachments. Any subsequent exchange of messages between registered users occurs without the need to reenter any user information.

According to Daniel Stevens, Send Technology's chief executive officer, Send. enables anyone with a personal computer and an Internet browser to have the benefits of secure e-mail without any additional hardware or software.

"Talking with e-mail users and reading various research reports, we learned that there was a huge pent-up demand for a truly secure means of exchanging e-mail messages and attachments for either regulatory or other individual reasons, but that there was an equally high resistance to the limited number of secure methodologies available at the time," said Stevens. "We developed Send. as a service that could be readily used without installing any sort of software or making any changes to individual computer settings."

In a September, 2006, report written by Ferris Research and sponsored by Identum - now a part of the Trend Micro organization - it was estimated that the business-to-business market for e-mail encryption (http://www.sendinc.com) was 350 million e-mail users, with another one billion or more users in the business-to-consumer sector.

The Send. secure e-mail service is now available for free use at www.sendinc.com.
