State of Marylands Winning Choices 2004 Conference to hear wise words from Pearls of Wisdom From Three Generations authors

Popular grandmother, daughter, and granddaughter team to appear at annual statewide abstinence conference for girls 9 to 18 years.

(PRWEB) October 9, 2004 -- No grass grows under the feet of matriarch, author, and advice columnist Celia Ford. At 76, she only recently began her new career -- writing. Having co-authored the bestselling collection, Pearls of Wisdom from Three Generations, with her daughter, Theresa Allen and granddaughter Pamela Simonson, Ford is excited to help facilitate a workshop entitled Pearls of Wisdom, to teenagers and their parents at the upcoming State of Marylands Winning Choices 2004 Conference, Saturday, October 30, 2004 at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, (U.M.B.C.) The $5.00 fee includes great gifts, breakfast and lunch. The all-day conference will include separate programs for Parents/Adults and students grades 4 to 6, grades 7 to 9 and grades 10-12. Each adult can bring four students. You do not have to be a Maryland resident to attend.

Ford, Allen, and Simonson also author the weekly advice column, Ask Pearls of Wisdom" in the Washington Informer. They also recently presented a workshop at the Smithsonian Institute Anacostia Museum entitled, Pearls of Wisdom From Past Generations, which included over one hundred family artifacts, photographs, and family documents, dating back to the 1700s, and focused on African American families, genealogy research, establishing traditions, and preserving wisdom.

Winning Choices 2004 is sponsored by the Center for Maternal and Child Health (CMCH) and are partnering with the Governors Council on Adolescent Pregnancy (GCAP), Office for Children, and Youth and Families (OCYF) to target pre-teens and teens between the ages of 9 to 18 living in jurisdictions with adolescent pregnancy rates higher than the statewide average.
