Camp Bow Wow® North Hills Opens at the Paw-fect Time for the Holidays

Camp Bow Wow® North Hills celebrates the "Howlidays" with Santa and a FREE day at camp!

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) November 26, 2008 -- Tails began wagging as Camp Bow Wow® in North Hills opened for business. Dogs and their two-legged guardians are invited to attend a fun and festive "Howliday" event to celebrate the Grand Opening of Camp Bow Wow® on Saturday, December 6, 2008 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. There will be prizes, adoptable dogs from the Animal Rescue League of Western Pennsylvania, vendors and pup photos with Santa! Bring your kids--and of course your pooches--to this fun-filled day at Camp Bow Wow®!

This premiere doggy day care and overnight boarding camp is conveniently located at the southern (closer to town) intersection of McKnight Rd. and Babcock Blvd at 2327 Babcock Blvd. Pups are invited to come in and experience an entirely new concept in doggy day and overnight care.

Camp Bow Wow® has a lot to offer to their furry friends. It has an upscale environment for dogs to play, romp and receive lots of love and attention. Camp Bow Wow® North Hills is a state of the art facility that offers many amenities to make sure the pups enjoy their stay. Only at Camp Bow Wow® in every nook and cranny of the camp, there are live Camper Cams® installed so owners can watch their beloved pooches play all day. Certified Camp Counselors® are always present and Camp Bow Wow® has a 24 hour monitoring system to ensure all the campers are safe. The camp is 9,000 sq. ft and features large outdoor and indoor connected play areas so the pups can play outside when it's sunny and warm, and come inside when their paws are cold or wet! All 63 spacious overnight cabins are equipped with comfy cots and fleece blankets and 5 of those are luxury suites with private TVs and windows for the pampered pups.

This doggy day care is just different. For one thing, there's the all day play. Instead of spending most of the day in a cage, with minimal walks and play time, dogs that visit Camp Bow Wow® enjoy most of their time (whether it's for day camp or boarding) playing in one of the large indoor/outdoor play areas.

"During the day, campers spend most of their time outdoors playing with their four-legged friends," said owner, Jordan Murray. At Camp Bow Wow® North Hills, day campers find themselves tired out by the end of the day when their guardians come to pick them up. The guests who stay overnight are given a tasty Campfire treat just before being tucked into their own private and spacious cabin.

Another unique quality of the camp is that there are Certified Camp Counselors® who are required to monitor the pooches all day and to adhere to the strict camper to counselor ratio for the safety of dogs. The counselors are trained in dog behavior, safety and health management. They are also CPR and First aid trained. Camp Bow Wow® knows how dogs play and interact, so they keep all sizes and types of pups very yappy! As an additional safety measure, the camp keeps large and small doggies in separate play areas.

There are a few requirements to be a camper and it all starts with the free interview day. The interview is a meet and greet with dogs of similar size and temperament and Jordan Murray advises owners to leave their pooches for the full day. "Basically, it's a free day of camp and we get to know our future guests on a first name basis," said Jordan. Campers must be neutered or spayed if over 6-months old, up to date on rabies, distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations, and in good general health.
