Two More "Twilight" Stars Join 2009 Fan Conference The nation's No. 1 motion picture will come to life in Dallas next summer, as five stars of the film "Twilight" have now confirmed their attendance at the US's largest fan convention dedicated to the Stephenie Meyer's series of books by the same name. Peter Facinelli - starring as Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the fall blockbuster; and Jackson Rathbone - who portrays Jasper Hale- will join Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen), Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen) and Mike Welch (Mike Newton) at TwiCon '09 -- which will be held July 30 - Aug. 2, 2009 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel and Convention Center. TwiCon managing partner Becky Scoggins said that more cast members are expected to be added in the future.
Organizers of TwiCon have also announced that 250 of the more than 2,500 registrants expected to attend may participate in an exclusive meet and greet with the special guests. These coveted spots are available to those who have fully paid their $255 fee for the four-day convention.
Other recent announcements about TwiCon: • The Mitch Hansen Band, which recently released a new album, will be a headlining artist at the convention. To celebrate its inclusion in TwiCon, the band and its record label, Harper Music, are sponsoring a Dazzling and Twilight-filled contest with multiple winners of the new Mitch Hansen Band CD and a Grand Prize Winner who will find themselves at the TwiCon event receiving the VIP treatment of a lifetime. TwiCon 2009 is the premiere unofficial conference celebrating Stephenie Meyer and the Twilight saga. The event is expected to feature a Twilight movie screening, live Twilight inspired band performances, the Volturi Masque Ball, opportunities to meet Twilight cast, dozens of breakout sessions, panels, workshops and more, as well as a Vendor Hall where dozens of vendors will offer items and collectibles inspired by the Twilight books and movie. The event also will feature an Artists' Alley fan exhibition of handmade art and goods. With "New Moon", the sequal to "Twilight" and the second book in the series, slated to begin filming soon TwiCon anticipates a surge of interest from fans and media alike.
