(PRWEB) October 14, 2004 -- On Friday, September 24, 2004, Poet/Author Charles L. Hinsley attended the annual conference of the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation in Atlanta. The nineteenth induction ceremony enshrined the legendary educator Dr. Johnnetta B. Cole, Super Bowl MVP Quarterback Doug Williams and famed civil rights activist Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth into the Hall of Fame. Other VIP's who witnessed the ceremony were famed fine artist Claude Julian, veteran actor Robert DoQui, world-renown art collector Dr. Paul R. Jones and Coretta Scott King.

Also, Charles enjoyed the nineteenth competition of Black College Queens. Tameka Wilson representing Bowie State University was crowned Miss NBCA Hall of Fame 2004-2005, first runner-up was Ogugua Anene-Maidoh from Lincoln University (PA) and second runner-up was Yolanda Robinson from Tennessee State University. The Competition highlights the talent, intelligence, and personalities of these young women who are students attending historically Black colleges and universities. The Competition of Black College Queens is a tribute to young African-American women striving for excellence through education.
