Popular Kids Touring Company RAGGS Kids Club Band® Stars in Holiday TV Special WTTW National Productions/Chicago joins RAGGS to bring new children¹s holiday special to public television stations nationwide in November and December 2004 Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) October 21, 2004 -- For the past three years, The RAGGS Kids Club Band has been playing fairs, festivals, amusement parks, theatres, malls and even The White House with their signature brand of rock 'n' roll music for kids. This holiday season, fans will see them for the first time in "Holiday Jam," a half-hour special to be carried on participating public television stations nationwide in November and December.
The band, which stars five big, colorful canine characters, has built a reputation for high-energy, musical fun while delivering wholesome messages about music appreciation and pro-social values. Their interactive road show is full of surprises such as beach balls exploding into the audience and participants competing with the "Pawsuuup!"® club handshake. They take the same formula to the screen in "Holiday Jam," which was shot on the ski slopes and in the ski town of Telluride, Colorado this past March.
"Providing innovative programming for children is at the heart of WTTW's mission," said Randy King, Executive Vice President of WTTW National Productions. "RAGGS is educational and combines traditional entertainment values and great contemporary music and movement."
"We're very proud that our first broadcast collaboration is with the public broadcast system," states Toni Steedman, RAGGS President and Founder. "WTTW National Productions is a leader in the production of award-winning programming and we are pleased to have them presenting the RAGGS program," Steedman adds.
In "Holiday Jam," the band, starring RAGGS, Trilby, Pido, B.Max and Razzles, gets a call to fill-in for a cancellation with the promise that they'll be home for Christmas. They head to the mountains where they have a rockin' good time playing a school concert and enjoying skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, swimming and even snow tennis to the max! When their van breaks down and they can't get home for the holidays, they also learn valuable lessons and make new friends. The show features 11 classic holiday songs, which the band has recorded on an award-winning CD appropriately titled "Holiday Jam."
"RAGGS and his friends have gathered a loyal following around the country," explained Steedman, "and we know that they will be delighted to see more of the band in action in this program."
RAGGS has scheduled three additional specials for 2005. A 13-week television series is in discussion. "Holiday Jam," the CD, was awarded the iParenting Media Award in 2003.
