Leapstone Demonstrates CCE ServiceBROKER Solution at Global MSF Interoperability Event Leapstone CCE serviceBROKER Successfully Performs at MSF GMI 2004 Somerset, NJ (PRWEB) October 21, 2004 -- Leapstone Systems, a leading provider of service delivery and content management solutions, successfully demonstrated interoperability with 27 other participants at GMI 2004, the Multiservice Switching Forum (MSF) global interoperability event, which took place October 4-16, 2004. Leapstones CCE serviceBROKER was located at three of the four interconnected host network facilities: at BT in Europe, Qwest in North America and KT in Asia.
The event tested basic point-to-point voice over internet protocol (VoIP) within a single service provider's network and then increased in complexity as value added services (including video), connectivity to the public switched telephone network (PSTN), and direct connectivity between two VoIP carrier networks were demonstrated on a global basis. Leapstones serviceBROKER played a central role in all of the value added services test cases and validated its position as a critical element in the overall MSF architecture and the specific protocols defined in MSF Interoperability Agreement (IA) specifications.
As the only stand-alone service broker tested in this global event, we further validated not only our ongoing commitment to open architectures, but also that Leapstones products are built to handle the complex demands of the worlds leading service provider networks," said Rick Orriss, President and CEO, Leapstone. Together with the other GMI 2004 participants, we are helping service providers deliver on the promise of their next-generation networks by making it easier to deploy an extensive range of compelling services."
At GMI 2004, Leapstones CCE serviceBROKER was put through rigorous testing and successfully interoperated with call agents, softswitches, SIP application servers, Parlay gateways, Parlay X gateways and media servers.
Service brokering functionality is a must for any service provider that wants the ability to define and manage its value added service bundles," explained Stuart Walker, Leapstones Principal Architecture and Technology Advisor. Leapstone has the most flexible, service-oriented approach in the industry, and by working with other vendors through the MSF, we can help service providers deploy the best possible next generation networks, enabling them to generate revenue and achieve customer targets."
An executive summary of the GMI 2004 findings is available from the MSF at www.msforum.org, while the full details and results of the event will be kept confidential.
The MSFs interoperability demonstrations are focused on solving real-world problems with real products," said Roger Ward, MSF President. GMI 2004 marks the culmination of a years worth of work at carriers, system vendors and government agencies. While the event itself is complete, the work of GMI 2004 is far from complete. The incredible efforts of the participants will serve as part of a roadmap that will lead to the MSFs ultimate goal of true multiservice, multi-vendor global networks."

About GMI 2004 Global MSF Interoperability (GMI) 2004 tested a deployable and operationally-ready VoIP network with services, applications, network management, enhanced quality of service (QoS) and security features. Held October 4-16, GMI 2004 was hosted by major carriers in North America, the UK, Japan and Korea. Each test site was connected by live network facilities, creating a realistic test environment to examine the interoperability and deployment of multi-service, next-generation networks on a global scale. GMI 2004 tested application servers, media servers, service brokers, call agents, bandwidth managers and other control and management systems against the specific protocols defined in MSF Interoperability Agreements (IA's).
