Halloween Costume Business is Showing that the Economy is Getting Better

Pierres Costumes located in Old City Philadelphia announced that sales on costumes and related Halloween items are dramatically up from previous years.

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) October 22, 2004 -- "People are sick of saving their money and watching their 401Ks, so they are trying to have a little fun this year" said Rich Williamson, President of Pierres Costumes.

"We had seen a slowing of people celebrating Halloween in the past couple of years, but this year our costume business is stronger than ever", he continued.

Williamson noted that the fact that Halloween is on a Sunday this year has definitely helped to make it a big party weekend. Midnight on Saturday starts Halloween.

"The trend is towards a kinder more celebratory Halloween these days." Said Williamson. "People are dressing as Kings & Queens, as well as Pirates and Flappers.

Being in the Costume business as long as Pierres has makes them more qualified to comment on the long-term trends than anyone else. They have seen many trends come and go over the years.

"I have also seen a huge increase in large costume balls and high end parties this year" Said Williamson There will be no lack of places for people to go to on Halloween weekend." Williamson continued The average person has returned to the kind of costume spending that we saw pre September 11. If the Halloween costume business is any indicator, the economy is rebounding nicely"

People are spending more money and energy to enjoy the largest holiday in the Autumn. People want to have fun again and return to life as they remember it.
