Maybe Bush Said, "Not Many" Casualties In Iraq, Rather Than "Not Any"

Who knows what other tragic mistakes they may blindly lead us into? We need a total change at the top. Almost anything would be better than what we presently have. Kerry may not be perfect, but he is a million times better than Bush.

(PRWEB) October 22, 2004 -- In their conversation prior to the invasion of Iraq, Bush probably told Robertson that there would be "not MANY" casualties in Iraq, rather than "not ANY," as Robertson thought he heard Bush say. Obviously Bush must have known there would be at least a few American casualties. He may be deluded and oblivious to to unpleasant realities, but any ten-year-old would know to expect at least a few casualties in any kind of military invasion, with armed opposition. So I do not believe that Bush said there would be none.

What did happen, in my opinion, is that Bush must have said "not many," rather than "not any." And Robertson didn't hear him correctly.

Here is the actual quote from Robertson, as widely reported, and as I myself verified by watching the clip:

"He was just sitting there, like, I'm on top of the world,' and I warned him about this war," Robertson said. "I had deep misgivings about this war, deep misgivings. And I was trying to say, 'Mr. President, you better prepare the American people for casualties.' 'Oh, no, we're not going to have any casualties.'"

It would be very easy to mistake "not any" for "not many." And I think this is what Robertson did: Bush actually said "not many." Robertson thought he heard Bush say "not any."

Nevertheless, even if Bush said "not many," that still proves how ignorant and delusional he was (and still is) about the realities of life in the Middle East. There was simply no way the Muslim people of Iraq could accept "liberation" from Saddam, provided by the Christian Crusader, infidel, Israel-loving, Sharon-supporting, military-occupying American President Bush.

Bush obviously had never had even one heart-to-heart, sincere talk with a typical Muslim man-in-the-street, from Iraq or anywhere else! If he had had even one such talk, he would have known, as I do, that the whole concept of an American military liberation/occupation of Iraq would never be acceptable. (It's not acceptable to them in Afghanistan or any other Muslim country either, as we will eventually find out.)

So we see that Bush and his entire misguided Team is dangerously delusional and recklessly out of touch with reality. "Listening only to themselves, they think they are always right!"

Who knows what other tragic mistakes they may blindly lead us into? We need a total change at the top. Almost anything would be better than what we presently have. Kerry may not be perfect, but he is a million times better than Bush.

Blessings to you. May God help us all.
