NetLearning Releases Learning Administrator 7.1 for Online Professional Healthcare Training

Improved Performance and New Product Enhancements Now Available from NetLearning

Clifton Park, NY (Vocus) December 4, 2008-- NetLearning (http://www.netlearning.cengage.com), a leading provider of integrated e-learning solutions for healthcare training, compliance, and competency management, and part of Cengage Learning, is pleased to announce the latest major release of the Learning Administrator, version 7.1 (LA7.1), including SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) 1.2 certification. NetLearning's Learning Administrator (http://www.netlearning.cengage.com/products/learning_admin.aspx?sindex=products) is an online tool for managing and documenting training-related activities.

LA7.1, along with the Student Interface version 2.1 (SI2.1), features several enhancements that improve managing course content, significantly improve performance with faster system response, and enable automatic email notifications for CBLs (Computer Based Learning) at the curriculum level. In Addition, LA7.1 is now SCORM 1.2 certified and the SI2.1 can launch courses authored in most standard course authoring tools that can generate SCORM 1.2 compliant courses.

One of the major advantages of SCORM is its industry recognition and significant adoption by the US government and international industry as an e-Learning standard. The standard was developed by the Advanced Distributed Learning Network (ADL) and has strong support of both IMS and the International Electrical and Electronic Engineering Associations (IEEE) who are committed to ensuring its ongoing evolution and support.

SCORM virtually insures interoperability across systems, as compliant content can be used on any SCORM compliant learning management system (LMS). This means that content from many different sources can be used on any SCORM compliant LMS.

"The 21st century hospital is in need of training and talent management solutions that meet industry recognized standards while serving healthcare specific workflows," said Cathy Esperti, Vice President, NetLearning. "LA7.1 brings together the best of these elements while offering the flexibility of SCORM 1.2."

SCORM has become one of the most common e-learning standards over the last five years. After the release of SCORM 1.2 standards, many content creators and LMS developers have invested In SCORM 1.2, which is the most prevalent of the versions to date.
