New "Marathon" rug comes with a label that can be personalized to show the results of a runner's race. This hand-crafted rug sells for $99 and is suitable for any marathon. Classic Rug donates to the Achilles Track Club and Special Olympics for each rug that is sold.

(PRWEB) October 26, 2004 -- Rug designer and five-time marathoner Barbara Barran announces the introduction of Marathon," a rug dedicated to marathon finishers.

The rugs slogan, I can do 26.2!" refers to the length in miles of the marathon race. The stick-figure runners on the rug are white, black, male, female, and differently abled: one runner is blind, another runs on crutches, a third races in a wheelchair, while the rest of the runners struggle along on their own two feet. In my 22 years of running, Ive been passed by all kinds of runners," says Barran, so I wanted to honor all of them."

The label is as special as the front of the rug: it bears a banner that says, "Marathoner!" and spaces for the runners name, the name of the race, the date, and the finishers time. Every finisher is a champion, and this rug helps to commemorate an impressive achievement," notes Barran. Because the design of the rug is generic, it is appropriate for any marathon, rather than for a particular race.

To show support for the athletes who have to work harder to run a race, Classic Rug Collection will make a donation for each rug that is sold to the Achilles Track Club, for physically challenged athletes, and to the Special Olympics, for mentally challenged competitors.
