About the speaker: Tom Esposito -- Founder The Insight Group and one of the founding executives of IBM Global Services.

In 1995 after a successful career at IBM, Tom co-founded The INSIGHT Group, a management consulting firm specializing in helping product-based companies implement profitable high growth services businesses. Much of the firms work deals with renovation services strategies, business plans, business processes, management systems and sales & marketing approaches.

Tom has had a unique opportunity to observe and participate in the rapid growth of the information technology services market. He was acknowledged as one of the key architects of IBMs services business. At IBM, Tom held many key management positions, including Group Director of Organization and Management Systems for IBM US and Vice President of Marketing for IBM's National Service Division. As VP of Services Marketing, he was responsible for developing and implementing strategies to broaden IBM's services business from traditional maintenance and software support into a rapid growth high value customer services business including outsourcing services. In the early 90s, he was named Assistant General Manager of Services Marketing for IBM US, where he helped drive IBM US's overall services business at a 40% + rate. During this time, Tom also served as chairman of the IBM US Services Executive Council and spokesperson for the US services business.

He later was named Assistant General Manager of Systems Integration and Services Marketing for IBM US, with general management and P&L responsibility for the systems integration business generating approximately $1 billion in annual revenues. In his last IBM assignment, Tom served as Vice President, Global Consulting & Services where he was responsible for global strategy development, global management systems, business processes, and re-engineering IBM's rapidly growing geographic services businesses into a global services business. Today, IBM Global Services is IBM's largest and fastest growing business. Tom has been credited as being one of the first to fully understand how customers' changing requirements would create tremendous new opportunities in services.

Tom is a graduate of Rutgers University; He has taken advanced courses at Dartmouth Institute, Wharton School for Market Planning and Harvard Business School. Tom has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences and events and has served on the board of advisors of Arizona State Universitys Center For Services Leadership.
