New York (PRWEB) October 29, 2004 -- College radio-favorite astronaut will play their first show in the nations capital at one of Washington, DCs hottest new clubs in the U Street neighborhood. As part of Bang Bang Bangs debut EP release party, astronaut, as well as Chris Baer, will be performing live at DC9 (1940 9th Street NW) on Friday, October 29th beginning at 9 PM.

Having been focused on New York City and laying down tracks for a new album over the past several months, this show follows on from astronauts recent out of state showcase performance at the Midwest Music Summit in Indianapolis in August.

Ethan Goldman, drummer for astronaut, and a close friend of Bang Bang Bang said, All of us are looking forward to this show. Its great to get out of the studio and on the road, and to play with such musically creative artists at DC9. For me personally it is sort of a homecoming, as I grew up in the area. And now I get to help introduce astronaut to my old stomping grounds."

In addition to the show, astronaut is seeking interviews, in particular, with Billy Zero of XM Radio and with WRGW, George Washington Universitys radio station.

astronauts tunes have been featured on XM Radio Unsigned since last fall. At that time, the band was listed for several weeks in the top 10 in the Futures section of XM's R>A>D>A>R Report and fan favorite "Negative Re-evaluate" made the R>A>D>A>R Report's top 20 Most Played list.

WRGW was one of several hundred college radio stations targeted this summer in a going for adds campaign for astronauts Evolve EP, which charted well and continues to be played on the station.

astronauts lead singer, Jeff Merrill, commented, These interviews will be an opportunity for us to get the word out in DC and nationally about astronaut. We did one at Seton Hall a few months back before our show at Bowery Ballroom, where we talked about our music and played a few tunes live. With our new full-length CD almost ready, this is great exposure for us and songs we know people will really relate to."
