Zardoze Fashion Show Debut at Alliance for the New Humanitys Dinner Gala In San Juan, Puerto Rico on December 2, 2004, humanitarian Russian designer Ella Pritsker's international miracle suits will be showcased during an exclusive fashion show. Proceeds to benefit the Alliance for the New Humanity. Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) October 31, 2004 - For the first time, exclusive haute couture designs created by Baltimore company Zardoze, will be featured at the Alliance for the New Humanity conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico on December 2, 2004. Zardoze is a term derived from the high Persian art of elaborate embroidered designs using gold thread. The companys designs are inspired by the universe and the interconnectedness of creation.
We are all miracle suits," says Ella Pritsker, founder of Zardoze. Stitch by stitch, each detail forms a life." Her vision is to create a community honoring both the oneness of all and each persons individual uniqueness. Pritskers own life is the embodiment of a long string of miracles, and every garment she creates has that same magic and wonder woven into it. Making each outfit is an act of faith and a meditative process for her. The result is clothing that embraces the person with joy- a garment that uplifts, excites and dances with the wearer. No wonder her international clients fall in love with her clothes.
Pritsker left Russia at age 20, abandoning her medical studies and her fathers ambitions of her becoming a doctor, traveling through Europe before coming to the United States in 1990. A single mother, not knowing English and having no formal training in any particular trade, Pritsker happened upon a local fabric store and the proprietor, taken with her style, presented her with armloads of free samples. Seven years later, she created EllaModa, a haute couture design firm creating customized outfits for women executives. Soon she was creating entire wardrobes for clients and in 2002 she was voted Best of Baltimore for custom clothing design.
Zardoze works to create sustainability and social responsibility in fashion. A grassroots micro-enterprise, Zardoze is developing an apprenticeship program for single mothers and economically disadvantaged individuals to learn sewing and pattern-making while providing housing, daycare, holistic wellness and alternative therapies for its students and the community. Cashmere shawls, hats, and reversible car coats designed by Pritsker are also available for sale.
At the fashion show on December 2nd, the featured designs will honor cultures from around the world. These designs will be auctioned to benefit the Alliance for the New Humanity, an international, non-partisan network of individuals and groups dedicated to establishing a compassionate, equitable human society. Its founding members include Nobel Prize laureates Oscar Arias Sanchez and Betty Williams, as well as Deepak Chopra.
