Pino Tile & Carpet's Inaugural Children's Charity Golf Tournament

Benefits Displaced Youth - Keeping Siblings Together - Pino Tile & Carpet will be hosting the first annual Children's Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, November 6th at 7:30 AM. The event benefits SOS Children's Village of Florida, and will be held at the Palm Aire Country Club Cypress Course in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Pompano Beach, FL (PRWEB) November 6, 2004 -- Pino Tile & Carpet hereby announces its Inaugural Children's Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, November 6th at 7:30 AM. The event, which benefits SOS Children's Village of Florida, will be held at the Palm Aire Country Club Cypress Course in Pompano Beach, and begins with a shotgun scramble.

The event is the first of what is intended to be an annual charitable event. As longtime supporters of SOS Children's Village, Pino Tile and Carpet deemed the charity the logical beneficiary of this gesture of giving back to the community. Ted Bohne, president of Pino Tile & Carpet said the event is a show of appreciation for the success the company has enjoyed over the last 23 years. "We believe it's a great opportunity to help support children in need in our community and to have fun," said Bohne. "It's a win-win situation."

SOS Children's Village is part of Broward County's Foster Care program that specializes in keeping siblings together when the state acts to remove them from their parents' homes. Typically, these children have been forced out of their homes or have been taken away from their parents as a result of hardships, abuse, war, disease or other causes. Often, they do not have any other family to depend on and eventually become wards of the state.

"Pino Tile has been a proud sponsor of SOS Children's Village for many years and we invite the public to join us in a round of golf to help raise money to benefit these unfortunate children," Bohne went on to say.

Registration for the event begins promptly at 7AM, with a minimum $100.00 contribution required to participate. The donation includes green's fees, cart fees, lunch reception, shirt, and a golfer's gift bag. Contests for Hole-In-One, Closest-To-The-Pin, and Straightest Drive will be held and prizes awarded.

The mission of SOS Children's Village is to provide a secure, stable and nurturing environment to endangered youth until the child turns 18 years of age. With the support of SOS Children's Village and related sponsors these children are socialized to become productive members of society.
