Alliance of Writers Celebrates 4th Anniversary

Diana L. Guerrero's writing group has expanded from a local interest group into a larger entity attracting participation of writers and authors around southern California. The group is expanding to accommodate national interest.

(PRWEB) November 12, 2004 -- The Alliance of Writers celebrates four years of success this November. The writing group, which began as a simple gathering of local enthusiasts, now attracts interest from throughout southern California. The dynamic group was established in 2000 and continues to grow and expand.

According to Diana Guerrero, founder and facilitator, The group started because I wanted to meet other writers, get out of the house, develop camaraderie, and share feedback. It continued to grow and blossom until I was asked to open a second chapter in another location. The success of this community service project began to demand more of my time and another facilitator."

Within six months of opening the second chapter, Guerreros book, What Animals Can Teach Us about Spirituality: Inspiring Lessons of Wild and Tame Creatures" put an additional load on the writer.

Each November I reassess and decide on the direction of the Alliance for the next year-and the book came out during that time. The demands of the book tour and the increased management needed by the groups required that I cease the weekly meetings. Instead, the Alliance now holds writing workshops, events, and mixers instead of managing weekly groups. It was a good decision."

The writing workshops are taught by a stable of talented instructors and attract serious scribes from all over southern California. Judy Reeves, author of "A Writers Book Of Days," and co-founder of The Writing Center in San Diego, found the Alliance of Writers to be remarkable enough to feature it in her book, "Writing Alone, Writing Together." Professional organizations such as the California Writers Club and The Learning Light have asked Guerrero to provide writing and creativity workshops for their members.

When asked what is in the works for 2005 Guerrero said, Plans for next year include more workshops and teleseminars. Ive just established an online community for writers and am looking forward to providing services to a wider audience through those efforts."

Guerrero will be autographing in California over the holiday season.
