Florida C-Band Earth Station owners, suspect theyre "Leaving Something on the Table"

ALSAT licensed C-Band Uplink Facility has figured out they need a knowledgeable partner for its International DATA capability.

White Springs, FL (PRWEB) November 13, 2004 -- Victor M. Ives, one of the Uplink Facility owners, says he and his White Springs Media radio pals suspect theyre leaving something on the table---but exactly what, theyre not sure. Because the current focus is the launch of their radio network - talkstarradio.com, which combines the vertical integration of their content with their FCC ALSAT licensed delivery system, Ives and his partners have not had time to delve into the considerable potential that the Data portion of their license holds.

We launched TalkStar Radio Network from our uplink Facility in White Springs on September 6th in the worst hurricane season Florida ever had ... but managed to stay on the air without a hitch", Ives says." We have been working around-the-clock ever since," Ives continues. Our Facility is located 110 feet above sea level allowing us to see the 'birds over the Atlantic and cover Europe and is licensed for unlimited channels of audio, video and data," Ives says. We know exactly what to do with our radio and TV capacity, but were drawing a blank when it comes to utilizing the Data capability of our ALSAT license.

Ives, a long time broadcaster who built and ran radio stations for movie cowboy Gene Autry, was Vice President of Harte- Hanks Communications, syndicated Golden Age of Radio for a couple of decades, did a long-running radio show on BBC, and built a TV station in Portland (Channel 32---sold to Warner Bros.), among a long list of other things. Also, Ives says he owns or controls various national radio shows (www.talkstarradio.com www.americanhealthtak.com) and thousands of video titles (www.stellarfims,com). The Stellar movie library was a large part of what made the Portland TV station sufficiently viable to attract viewers and advertisers and ultimately a $30 million dollar buyer.

COO of White Springs Media, Bob Laman, confesses: We are having trouble getting our arms around what to do with our Data and International delivery capability. When we acquired the Uplink Facility last year, we expected to be able to find a consultant who could introduce us to users or joint venture partners/operators to take over development and exploitation of the elements we understand and werent utilizing - specifically Data and International delivery". That didnt happen, so now we are back to square one" Laman says. But where do you start looking? Certainly they arent in the Yellow Pages." Laman has no doubt that White Springs Media can be profitable executing just the radio and TV portion of their business plan But, he says, it goes against the grain to leave such a big part of the loaf unbaked".
