Chicago Community Goups Host Toy Drive Chicago area churches Home of Life, New Third Heaven and Good Shepherd will be hosting hosting the Community Churches Toy Drive to benefit underprivilged families during the holiday season. Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 19, 2004 -- Chicago area churches Home of Life, New Third Heaven, and Good Shepherd will be hosting the Community Churches Toy Drive. The proceeds from the toy drive will benefit less fortunate families within Chicago and the surrounding communities.
As documented in the 2003 Census Bureau data, 15.4% of the families in Cook County are at or below the poverty rate and an astounding 18.5 % of children eighteen and younger fall into this category. The Census Bureau also reports that 25.2% of single mother families are at or below the poverty rate.
Home of Life, New Third Heaven and Good Shepherd are asking people for donations of unwrapped toys in an effort to help underprivileged children in the Chicago area. Monetary donations will also be accepted and will be used to purchase toys for needy children in the Chicago area. Donations will be accepted through December 18th at the following locations:

Thousands of children in the Chicago area are at or below the poverty rate. These children deserve to have a happy holiday season and need everyones help. As community leaders these churches understand they have a responsibility to help Chicago area residents in need. The Community Churches Toy Drive will give the people of Chicago the opportunity to make a difference within the Chicago community. Donations will be accepted at the three community centers through December 18th.
