Inauguration Celebration Champagne and Other Bubbles

GiraMondo Wine Adventures will kick off the Inauguration Weekend with a Champagne and Other Bubbles Festival on Friday January 16th, 2009.

Come join local and out-of- town wine enthusiasts to celebrate the new president in the White House. What a great way to start this Inauguration Celebration Weekend: Champagne, Méthode Champenoise, Sparkling Wines, Spumante, Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs, etc… what is the difference and how do they compare? We will taste a selection of 10 Champagne and Sparklers from France, Italy, Spain and of course the United States of America and have a great menu prepared:

Red, White and Blue Appetizers and Desserts:

• Red Strawberries accompanied by chocolate fondue
• Platter of International White Cheeses
• Blue-Sky's the Limit Cake
• Savory hors d'oeuvres to be passed

Champagne and Sparkling Wines:

• Veuve Clicquot
• François de Rozay
• Perle de Rose
• Gloria Ferrer Blanc de Noirs
• Gruet Brut
• Prosecco
• Cava
• Lambrusco
• Thibault Jannison Blanc de Chardonnay
• Moscato d' Asti

Claude Thibault, Champagne Master - Janisson champagne and Thibault Janisson Blanc de Chardonnay - will be giving a brief educational presentation at 7pm and at 8pm. Be ready to let the bubbles tickle your nose while you try a very interesting selection of 10 Champagne and other bubbly treasures.

This celebration will take place at the Whitemore House in Dupont Circle at 1526 New Hampshire Ave, NW Washington, DC 20036 from 6:30pm-8:30pm Friday January 16th. Tickets are $64 for the evening.
