The extensive list of improvements being made at Desert Canyon include the completion of three large lakes that surround the Lakes number nine green, a new golfers rest station between Lakes holes four and five, updated teeing grounds, replacement of 13 bunkers and widespread landscaping throughout the course to bring out the beauty of its surrounding scenery.
In addition to the course remodel, Homestead NW Development Company, the parent company of Great Links Lodges at Desert Canyon, will unveil three satellite lodges available for occupancy in spring 2005. These satellite lodges will provide 12 additional units to the existing main lodges 21 suites. With the completion of the satellite lodges, there will be accommodations for up to 100 guests. The Great Links Lodge at Desert Canyon opened in June 2004 and received a five-star rating from Interval International.
Homestead NW is also drawing up plans for its next phase of development scheduled to be completed in the Spring of 2006. This phase will include the development of 12 Golf Casitas" and the first phase of the major onsite indoor recreational facility incorporating luxury pools, full service spa and a health and exercise facility. This is all part of the long-term plan to make Desert Canyon the finest golf resort in the Pacific Northwest. Starting this spring, people will truly find they can visit a luxury resort in only a few hours drive," said Frei.
Along with the numerous capital improvements being made at Desert Canyon, there will also be an innovative guest service program implemented, which is designed to provide guests with an exemplary resort experience second to none.
The guest service program will start with the course offering, Premium Tee Times" available May 2005. These tee-times will be assigned 12-13 minute tee time intervals to insure a quicker round as wells as given Nike, Titleist or Callaway range balls. Another perk will be providing a personal Course Ambassador" to every guest while on the golf course to ensure they are having the most positive golfing experience possible.
