Obama, Clinton and a Dangerous Human Rights Precedent

On October 30, 2008 the United Nations Human Rights Council pre-determined a landmark case against Canada as "inadmissible", although the Petition involving the US Clinton Administration as the alleged co-conspirator had been formerly accepted by the UN Chief Treaties and Council on December 5, 2007. The reason stated by the Council for this belated decision was, "Procedural Issues …" involving the refusal of the United States to be held accountable for individual human rights violations.

Geneva, Switzerland (PRWEB) January 7, 2009 -- Former CIA financial contractor and whistleblower, Harmon Wilfred (www.harmonwilfred.com) has filed an appeal to the UNHRC's decision of inadmissibility (No G/SO/2151/51/CAN (135)MS/HV/sn) regarding his previously approved Petition No 1638/2007 on the grounds that although the United States has not accepted the competence of the UN Human Rights Committee to examine individual complaints, this does not disqualify Canada as the offending state, or the material evidence against Canada involving the torturous actions of the US. "Allowing this decision to stand creates a dangerous precedent suggesting that Canada and other signatory states to the Optional Protocol of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights could be deemed not accountable for human rights violations against individuals if committed in concert with the United States", says Wilfred's attorney, Guneet Chaudhary.

The material evidence of this case includes an account of Wilfred's 1999 meeting in Toronto, Canada with President Clinton's attorney, Gregory Craig, as well as his wife's unanswered letter to First Lady Hillary Clinton requesting urgent intervention on behalf of Wilfred's two minor children. Wilfred's children were allegedly being used as political pawns to prevent him exposing the alleged embezzlement of billions of dollars by the CIA and certain high level political figures.
