New Energy Works Timberframers Opens a West Coast Manufacturing Facility in Oregon

New Energy Works Timberframers is pleased to announce the opening of a new timber frame manufacturing facility in McMinnville, OR.

McMinnville, OR. (PRWEB) January 9, 2009 -- New Energy Works Timberframers is pleased to announce the opening of a new timber frame manufacturing facility in McMinnville, OR.

Jonathan Orpin, president and owner of New Energy Works says, "We've been building timber frames for customers across the nation from our Upstate New York headquarters for 25 years. A west coast facility equipped with the latest technology allows us to significantly increase our service and decrease our lead time and shipping costs for customers west of the Mississippi."

The company chose the Willamette Valley because of its close proximity to Portland, its affordable real estate, and the support of the Governor's office and SEDCOR, the regional economic development office. Mr. Orpin added, "The McMinnville town leadership's vision is one that fits the artisan culture of New Energy Works. Plus, I've personally always been a big fan of the Pacific Northwest, particularly Oregon because of its environmentally responsible lifestyle."

While the current economy finds many companies downsizing and tightening budgets, New Energy Works has taken a different tack, investing over a million dollars to build a fully operational facility in the west to mirror its New York headquarters. Start-up expenses include 8 full time employees, a state-of-the-art CNC joinery machine, and a 11,500 square foot shop. The rest of the company's 60 employees, including designers, engineers, marketing and office staff, support the Oregon shop from New York.

The McMinnville shop manufactured and raised its first frame in June in Montana. Since then, the team has built and raised frames in Utah and California and Michigan.
