First Web-to-TV Music Contest to Find $1,000 A Cappella Vocal Winner

MakeAStar.com holds finals tournament for webcam a cappella vocalists. National exposure for several amateur singers gained through the website's weekly show syndicated on FUSE cable network. $1,000 cash awaits the winner to be announced on TV Jan. 24th.

Over twelve days, 27 contestants' webcam performances of selected holiday carol standards ("Silent Night", "O Holy Night", "Auld Lang Syne", amongst others) are vying for the highest scores from a 50/50 split between a panel of music industry judges and the online votes from registered users of MakeAStar.com in order to win a $1,000 cash prize.

What makes this contest especially unique is Make A Star's weekly show, syndicated nationally on FUSE cable network. Reaching an audience of over 60 million homes and targeted directly to a music loving audience in the 18-34 demographic, the show runs for 13 weeks throughout the winter season and gives all these amateur singers the chance at instant national TV exposure simply by recording a vocal performance on their home webcam and entering this FREE a cappella contest.

Opening round matches began Tuesday, Jan 6th at 1PM PT and ended Friday, Jan 9th at 1PM PT, with quarterfinals matches starting immediately afterward and ending Monday Jan 12th. All opening round bracket pairings feature 3 or 4 randomly grouped contestants, from which the highest scoring performance advances. Quarter, semi and final rounds feature matches of 2 contestants each, with the highest score advancing to face the next opponent in their half of the bracket.

The $1,000 winner will be announced on the Jan. 24th episode of Make A Star, which airs on FUSE at 10:30AM ET/PT
