The Brooklyn Comedy Company: Stand-Up Comedy in the Borough of Kings

The Brooklyn Comedy Company, a free weekly comedy show located @Ripple Bar in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn is proving itself to be the premier stand-up comedy show in Brooklyn.

The heart of this show is that its a community based effort. Prospect Heights residents Marlon Hunter, Fahnon Bennett and Elon James White teamed together to organize a show that would rival any in NYC. Expressing their want for a high quality, but free show, local neighborhood staples such as The Islands Exotic Caribbean Cuisine(Zagats 2003 Important New Comer), Bar Sepia:"Raising the Bar in Brooklyn", and Olivino Wines: Brooklyn's Hippest Wine Shop, offered to sponsor the show ensuring that the performing arts would be brought to the neighborhood.

Within Its first month the show has seen such comedic powerhouses as Rob Paravonian(Comedy Centrals Premium Blend, VH1), Ritch Duncan(Tough Crowd with Collin Quinn, Jest Magazine), Yamaneika Saunders(Last Comic Standing NYC Finalist, Showtime at the Apollo), Jamie Roberts(Showtime at the Apollo), Celeste Joseph(MTV), Roc Belushi(The Roc Belushi Show) and many more. Plus the show is giving notable up and comers such as Victoria Bond, Larry Bailey, Blaine Perry, Baron Vaughn, to name a few, chances to work along side seasoned comics, with out the abuse that is normally given to new comics at the major clubs.
