"Hanukkah Who Ya?"

A Hanukkah Whodunit Mystery: Artist of the Number-One, Holiday-Smash-Hit Parody Revealed

LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) December 8, 2004 -- The Hanukkah equivalent to Jib Jabs This Land Is Your Land" animation has fans in a quandary about who made the track that beat out Adam Sandlers The Chanukah Song" to become this years most requested Hanukkah record.

An unknown entity produced a simple flash tribute to the song, neglecting to credit the artist. Everyone from The Washington Times to Internet bloggers has been playing cyber-sleuth to unmask the artist behind the song. Online greeting card companies have even tried to pass it off as their own.

Other than an audible website reference at the end of the track, there is no way for fans to know who is responsible for one of the most popular Hanukkah songs in recent years-until now.

Making Heeb-Hop history and getting more spins than dreidels, Hanukkah Hey Ya!" is the lead single on the new album Kosher Kuts by Los Angeles comedian and rapper Eric Smooth-E" Schwartz.

The parody is the top-requested Hanukkah tune on Dr. Dementos legendary comedy music program. San Diegos broadcast behemoth 91X DJ Chris Cantori echoes Demento, saying, 'Goodbye Adam Sandlers 'Chanukkah Song and 'hello to 'Hanukkah Hey Ya!" Vibe magazine online described it as a gem," while Fox 11s Good Day Live" used it as segment music during the holidays. The song has drawn more than 300,000 downloads since last holiday season. Tracks from the CD have been played on countless radio stations nationwide and syndicated on Premiere Radio Networks, XM Comedy and All Comedy Radio.

So, who is Smooth-E?

He is the alter ego of Los Angeles stand-up comedian Eric Schwartz, who hosts the new, syndicated childrens series Animal Atlas" and has made appearances on Comic View" (BET), The Sharon Osbourne Show" (The WB), Latino Laugh Festival -- The Show" (SiTV), "Live in Hollywood" (UPN), "Loco Comedy Jam" (Mun2) and The WB`s College Tour. A finalist for the Andy Kaufman Award at the New York Comedy Festival and runner up in the 2004 San Francisco Comedy Competition, Schwartz is played on radio stations across the country including Power 106 (Los Angeles) and Z90 (San Diego).
