San Diego, CA (PRWEB) December 7, 2004 -- X-Digital Systems Inc. (XDS), a technology innovation and licensing company focused on broadcast transmission systems, today announced it has joined the Texas Instruments (TI) Third Party Developer Network. Leveraging TIs high-performance, peripheral-rich digital signal processors, X-Digital will promote the growth of the emerging market for low-cost, small form factor multimedia devices by providing customers with advanced design solutions for the media broadcast environment.

X-Digitals goal is to create low cost solutions allowing the distribution of multimedia content over home and business networks. Our core technology and experience uniquely positions us to provide our customers with reduced development times, lower costs and minimized risks associated with these complex products", said Ian Lerner, president, XDS. We are proud to be teamed with TI as our DSP technology provider."

FlikItTM IP-STB (www.flikit.com), XDS acclaimed set-top box solution for wireless media control, utilizes TIs DSP-based DM642 digital media processor in a low cost reference design, which allows the distribution of video, music, pictures and data via Ethernet or Wireless LAN to multiple TVs in a wide range of environments, including homes, schools and airport terminals. In addition to FlikIt, XDS has a successful history of engineering customer solutions, including analog, digital and RF design services; custom Windows and Linux applications software; and consumer audio and video electronics.

XDS is also currently developing an IP media controller in a DVB application using TIs DM642 digital media processor. Scheduled for deployment in Japan in early 2005, the solution will simultaneously convert over 500 channels of digital audio files into a DVB satellite stream.

"TI is pleased to have XDS join our DSP developer network. Their focus on product innovation, coupled with their proven ability to customize solutions using digital signal processors, delivers a streamlined fit with TI's overall digital media strategy," said Jennifer Skinner-Gray, manager, DSP Partner Network
