The project, a collaborative effort that brought the technical experts of MBS together with the GRASP management team, required a full architectural re-development to bring this very complex application from its original Visual Basic platform created 15 years ago to a VB .net SQL Server solution. After having worked on the upgrade alone for 3 years without the desired results, GRASP Systems involved MBS, which was able to complete the project in only nine months.

GRASP MIStroClef software assists with workload management for healthcare staff by analyzing the number of patients, the intensity of patient care, and the corresponding patient needs to provide the appropriate amount of staffing within hospitals. The project parameters required a quick and easy user interface, complex real-time calculations, a need to maintain historical data states, detailed user auditing, a multi-tiered user and role based security model, robust reporting capabilities, very low network usage, and fast response time. The solution met all of these needs in a more reliable, functional, stable, and state-of-the-art application by utilizing MBSs extensive .net capabilities and implementing a rapid but phased approach to the development. Less than 1% of the bugs from the first system deployment were identified after the solution was rearchitected, and no serious errors were identified during testing with two beta customers.
