Why: Each year, thousands of entertainers throughout the Chicago land area make extra-ordinary contributions to the music and entertainment industry. Less than half of one percent of these entertainers received any form of recognitions in any of the major national Awards. As a result they look forward to this annual announcement to learn who are the lucky nominees in forty categories of Awards for the year, and who will be getting special Awards of Honor.    

The Chicago Music Awards is the only annual event that honors entertainers in all genres of music in the Chicago area. The main objective of the Awards celebration is to give accolades and show appreciation to the thousands of outstanding entertainers who have labored tirelessly in the entertainment industry.
