Michigan Songwrite and Performer, Sonic Freedom™ Strikes Top "Sweet 16" Finalist Spot at MakeAStar.com

Grand Rapids resident, Tim Mainka, the songwriter, arranger, and musician known as Sonic Freedom™, is currently featured in the MakeAStar.com songwriting contest, as a top 16 finalist with one of his songs, “Do You Miss Me”. There are four stages in the revolving competition (Preliminary, Quarter Final, Semi-Final, Final) and each stage runs for a week. Sonic Freedom™ - Tim Mainka is competing in Club #8 in the Preliminary round, which ends on December 14, 2004, 5pm EST.

Grand Rapids, resident, Tim Mainka, the songwriter, arranger, and musician known as Sonic Freedom™, is currently featured in the MakeAStar.com songwriting contest, in Club #8, as a top "Sweet 16" finalist with one of his songs, “Do You Miss Me”.

Sonic Freedom™ - Tim Mainka is competing against 15 other musical artists in first-round competition, which ends on December 14, 2004, 5pm EST. You can think of the contest as a "single-elimination, revolving-door" championship. At least once a month 16 new songs reviewed by industry professionals enter the contest in the 8 "Clubs." There are four stages in the revolving competition (Preliminary, Quarter Final, Semi-Final, Final) and each stage runs for a week, so it will take a song one month to work its way to the top.

Tim Mainka grew up in Les Paul's hometown, Waukesha, WI. With the excitement of musically active brothers, by age ten, he enthusiastically explored drums, bass, guitar, and songwriting naturally by himself with great confidence. His high school voted him most likely to become a rock star.

Throughout the years, as performer and songwriter, Tim has aligned himself with many diverse musical groups, including rock bands, tribute bands, jazz combos, jazz big bands, and wind symphonies. He earned his Music degree graduating cum laude from Carroll College.

Tim is also a gifted teacher, of guitar, bass, drums, songwriting and music theory, with twelve years of inspiring countless students in private instruction and group classes, currently teaching in the greater Grand Rapids and Holland area.
