"Morning Star" Lights a Path Across America of Beauty and Faith

"Morning Star" is an inspirational musical journey through America and Faith.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) December 26, 2004 -- Soaring eagles, majestic rivers, gentle plains, and early sunrises are all part of Phil Mitchells album Morning Star," an inspirational journey through America. Try to picture the beauty of America. How did people come together? What inspired them? This album draws a beautiful picture and leaves you breathless.

Mitchell has composed music for about 20 years. In addition to its strong instrumentals, the album features two Chicago singers with solid voices. The piano parts are not simple renditions but often involve triplets and offbeat jazz improvisation. You can hear the piano take off in Come with Me." The instrumentation is varied from song to song as well as the voices. It is refreshing to hear a meaningful album with true singing.

Mitchells inspiration came while growing up near Chicago. He talks about one cut, The Trolley." My grandfather was into trains and my father taught history. My father used to take us on trips throughout America so we could appreciate history," he said. The instrumental brings back memories of the 1920s when trolleys filled the streets of Chicago.

Some of the songs are about faith -- an inspiration for his music. You look at the beautiful churches built in the 1920s here in Chicago and you cannot help but be inspired by the faith of the people. People worked hard in the steel mills, but still kept their faith. I have always remembered with gratitude those who sacrificed for this country."

Mitchell talked about todays challenges. The culture today takes us so far from ourselves that people do not know how to find peace," Mitchell said. How many times does your television ask you a question? How many hours does a family spend at work? Who has time for rest? But people need that time to find themselves." He explained that Gently on the Plain" is more than just a song. It reminds all Americans that if we lose our faith we will lose our strength. This country could face many future challenges."

His insight on one song, A Full of Life" is interesting. One day, I woke up and heard the birds singing. I wanted to tell them to shut up, but then I realized that I was the only one not singing." All Americans find themselves sometimes too busy, but everyday the sun rises. Parents wake up to their morning coffee and send their children off to school. You might want to put in this CD some morning and listen to the music. It will leave your heart dancing and your spirit soaring. It is not a bad way to start the morning.
