Incidental Contact- Sports Seminars for Women...Taught by Women Launches

Accomplished Attorney Turns Lifelong Love of Sports into Business to Benefit Women

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 11, 2004 -- Incidental Contact, an innovative program featuring sports seminars for women- taught by women- has launched their website, www.incidentalcontact.com and concurrently announced the date and location of their first sports seminar in Los Angeles. Incidental Contact offers interactive coaching through short seminar sessions to teach women the basics of football, basketball and baseball. Most importantly, the sessions stress how to TALK about sports.

The company is the brainchild of Paula Duffy, a Southern California attorney who saw the need to educate women about sports and the resulting power of that knowledge when translated into conversation in both social and business settings; especially the friendly confines of sports bars. Duffy observed that many women found professional sports hard to follow and thus felt left out of many conversations in all walks of life. She also noticed that meeting potential romantic partners has become a huge industry, and yet more people than ever still seek someone special. Duffy believes that the most popular methods such as Internet dating sites lack real human contact and still leave the person without a true way to break the ice and spark interest. She endeavored to create seminars and a community that would offer women an opportunity to build new, personal relationships in a real environment, as opposed to a virtual one.

Being a lifelong sports fan, following the games and talking about them are passions for me," said Paula Duffy, founder of Incidental Contact. Over time I have come to realize that many women would love to know how to watch games and understand what they are seeing. Many men would like to share their favorite sports with women they know or women they may meet. Sports talk is routinely used in the course of most business settings and now theres a way to make it even more useful by creating ice breakers which work!"

Incidental Contact sports seminars are taught in a fun and interactive way that women can understand and enjoy and result in women being able to utilize the companys two main teaching tools: Talk to the Screen : breaking the ice by doing what comes naturally at games or sports bars and Talk to the Shirt": knowing how to speak about the team or person featured on sports apparel. Through extensive research, Duffy found these to be very successful ways for women to step outside their normal boundaries and meet new people or connect with people they already know.

The first round of seminars will begin Monday, January 17th, 2005 at the El Torito Grill in Beverly Hills, CA. Registration for the seminars is available on the companys website, www.incidentalcontact.com. Participants will attend three- one hour coaching sessions spaced a week apart, and have the opportunity to try out their new sports knowledge immediately at the venue, or during the week, and report back to the group with their findings. All participants will also receive a guide to the sport they are learning and full color field-of-play graphics, reinforcing what is taught in the seminars- complete with a Powder Room Power card," a cheat sheet women can refer to while they Talk to the Screen" at sports bars, and a goodie bag" containing gifts from sponsors.
