In Head-to-Head Testing U4EA's QoS Solution Outperforms Cisco LLQ Tolly Group Tests Prove that U4EAs GoSTM 2.0 Embedded Software Reliably Controls Latency and Guarantees QoS for Multi-Service Networks LONDON (PRWEB) December 14, 2004 -- U4EA Technologies, the premier embedded software provider for multi-service networks, announced today that in conclusive head-to-head testing by The Tolly Group, its GoS 2.0 consistently outperformed Ciscos Low Latency Queuing (LLQ) technology. This means that network edge and customer premise equipment (CPE) with U4EAs GoS 2.0 embedded software has a significant performance advantage -- delivering tightly controlled latency and guaranteed quality of service (QoS) for multi-service, converged networks.
Tolly Group engineers tested U4EAs GoS 2.0 and Ciscos LLQ technologies under three increasingly complex QoS tests. In the Basic Scenario the test measured the delay of the highest priority traffic in congested and uncongested networks. In the Differentiation Test Scenario, Tolly Group engineers measured the delay associated with streams of quality application traffic in a congested network. In the Simulated Voice over IP (VoIP) Test Scenario, engineers analyzed the latency and percentage of packets received from 25 VoIP calls and one best-effort congestion stream. In every congested network test, U4EAs GoS 2.0 technology performed orders-of-magnitude better than Ciscos LLQ. The full results and Tolly report can be found at www.u4eatech.com or www.tolly.com.
On the basis of these results, U4EAs GoS 2.0 represents a fundamental advance in QoS. It achieved outstanding results when subjected to even the most complex and demanding test environments," said Kevin Tolly, president and chief executive officer of The Tolly Group. OEMs looking for an embeddable QoS solution or service providers and enterprises that need to provision VoIP, mission-critical or bandwidth intensive traffic over multi-service converged networks should consider GoS-enabled CPE devices."
GoS 2.0 was found to provide predictable latency control while guaranteeing QoS for multiple converged applications. U4EAs GoS 2.0 was also found to ensure network scalability without over-provisioning, deliver 100% link utilization while preserving quality traffic and to mitigate starvation and ensure robustness in bursty" network environments. GoS 2.0 effectively manages network congestion and guarantees QoS. This proven software provides a means for access and network edge, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to quickly integrate major advances in service level agreement (SLA) management for converged applications on multi-service networks.
We are focused on providing technology that lets network equipment vendors significantly shorten their development time-to-market of effective, triple-play access devices," said Columb Harrington, chief executive officer at U4EA Technologies. These tests confirm that service providers and enterprises that install devices with our technology will benefit from much higher network productivity. We will continue to provide the technology to OEMs that ultimately helps service providers maximize the efficiency and profitability of their networks."
