Colorado Natural Food Company and Pittsburgh Medical Aid Organization Partner for Those in Need around the World Medical non-profit organization, Surgicorps International, receives support from White Wave, Inc., the maker of Silk® soymilk, to promote its mission of delivering health care to needy adults and children around the world. Boulder, CO (PRWEB) December 16, 2004 -- When Sabin Gurung was three-years-old, his mother carried him five hours to a nearby town in his native Nepal for surgery to repair a painful and debilitating burn he sustained as an infant. The doctors waiting for Sabin were from Surgicorps International, a Pittsburgh based non-profit organization. Since 1994, Surgicorps International has led medical trips to treat children like Sabin Gurung in developing countries worldwide.
After nine years of running its administrative operations from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Surgicorps International has relocated its office headquarters to Boulder, Colorado.
Boulder-based company, White Wave, Inc., the maker of Silk® soymilk, will house the day-to-day operations for Surgicorps International and provide organizational support to enhance the sustainability and infrastructure of the organization. Surgicorps Internationals medical staff and warehouse will remain in Pittsburgh.

Founded in 1994 by Jack E. Demos, M.D., a Pittsburgh-based plastic surgeon, Surgicorps International has led over 30 medical missions and performed nearly 1,500 surgeries to children and adults. Surgicorps International medical teams have traveled to countries such as Peru, Kenya, Tanzania, the Philippines, Vietnam, Brazil, and Nepal.
