Lawyer Announces $700,000 Personal Injury Settlement in New Jersey Construction Site Accident for Union Plumber

The New Jersey law firm of Pellettieri, Rabstein & Altman announced a $700,000 settlement of a personal injury case regarding non-compliance with OSHA safety regulations by third party contractors and subcontractors at a Jersey City construction site that led to amputation of several toes and other diabetic complications resulting from a plumber stepping on a nail pertruding from wood left negligently around the site after framing work had been completed.

(PRWEB) December 17, 2004 -- Personal injury lawyers representing Balint Kramlik recovered $700,000 in a construction site accident settlement before the Honorable Louis F. Locascio, New Jersey Superior Court -- Monmouth County (Docket No: MON-L-1635-02).

According to Mr. Kramliks attorney, Anne P. McHugh, Esq., a partner specializing in personal injury litigation at the Princeton New Jersey based law firm of Pellettieri, Rabstein & Altman, Mr. Kramlik, a union plumber, stepped on nail protruding from wood left at a construction site in Port Liberty in Jersey City by the general contractor, or sub-contractors, who had performed framing on the multi-million dollar housing construction site project. While the injury appeared minor at first, Mr. Kramlik, who is a type-1 diabetic, suffered amputations of several toes on his left foot due to diabetic complications.

A dirty worksite like this one creates hazards that cannot be condoned," asserted attorney Anne McHugh. Mr. Kramliks injury ultimately put this man out of work, left him disabled and dependant. OSHA, the federal body of law regarding workplace safety, requires general contractors and sub-contractors to clean up before other workers enter the construction site." The lawyer added, "If they had complied with OSHA safety regulations, then Balint Kramlik would be working today. A little safety can go a long way to prevent serious accidents ... and keep costs down."

Mr. Kramlik was 45 years old at the time of the July 10, 2000 accident and lived on Uncle Pete Road in Hamilton, New Jersey. He now lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Representing the defendants in this construction site personal injury case were lawyers Brian Brodowski, Esq. of Romando, Astorino, McLarty & DeMille, Hamilton, NJ (DSJ Construction Company); Daniel Cogan, Esq. of Hoagland, Longo, Moran, Dunst &Doukas, New Brunswick, NJ (JPB Plumbing); Garrett Joest, Esq., Toms River, NJ (Maura Construction Company); and Lisa Slotkin, Esq. of Zarwin, Baum, DeVito, Kaplan, Schaer & Toddy, Jersey City, NJ (Carlos Martins).
