Synthetix Launch Virtual Careers Advisor For The CITB

Synthetix are pleased to announce that we have been working with Proximity Londons Digital team to develop an innovative application for a new client, CITB-ConstructionSkills. We have created a Virtual Careers Advisor. The advisor is accessible through the construction industry recruitment bodys bconstructive website (bconstructive.co.uk/careers/) and is aimed at young people aged 14 to 19 who are looking for a career in the construction industry but are not quite sure what area is right for them.

(PRWEB) December 18, 2004 -- Synthetix and Proximity Londons Digital team have created a Virtual Careers Advisor for CITB-ConstructionSkills. The advisor is accessible through the construction industry recruitment bodys bconstructive website (http://www.bconstructive.co.uk/careers/) and is aimed at young people aged 14 to 19 who are looking for a career in the construction industry but are not quite sure what area is right for them.

The Virtual Careers Advisor was built using Synthetix SmartAgent technology. The system initiates a conversation with the user and elicits the answers to the six key questions to determine suitable careers in the same way that a careers advisor might do. The natural language interface allows the user to have a conversation with the SmartAgent - users type in questions and it returns plain English responses. Throughout the dialogue the SmartAgent directs the user to relevant sections within the website.

In its first month of operation, the Virtual Careers Advisor has had in excess of 10,000 interactions and assisted over 1,400 young people identify a career in the construction industry. Synthetixs Customer Insight system has recorded and analysed all of the conversations that have taken place and have provided both Proximity and the CITB, via synthetix.net, complex custom reports quickly in both textual and graphical formats.
