Almost 3,000 New Yorkers took over the Jacob Javits Center for five-hours of non-stop dancing to support the GMHC, the nation's oldest AIDS service and advocacy organization. Move Against AIDS was emceed by guest hosts actress Rosie Perez, actor Alan Cumming, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Jai Rodriguez, BET's 106 and Park host Free, actor Wilson Cruz, Naughty by Nature's Vinnie Brown and Power 105.1 DJ Egypt, with hot performances throughout the night from R&B sensation 3LW up-and-coming rapper Shade, Billboard dance chart-topper Kevin Aviance, spoken word artist Shailja Patel, and club diva Martha Wash. Internationally renowned DJs Beverly Bond, Peter Rauhofer, Danny Tenaglia, Tony Touch, and the iconic Junior Vasquez kept the music going all night long.

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 28, 2004 -- Nearly 3,000 New Yorkers put on their dancing shoes at Move Against AIDS: Return of the Dance-a-thon on Saturday, December 11, 2004. The Dance-a-thon, held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan, raised over $750,000 for HIV/AIDS programs.

Internationally renowned DJ's Beverly Bond, Peter Rauhofer, Danny Tenaglia, Tony Touch, and Junior Vasquez kept the crowd dancing throughout the night, along with musical performances by 3LW, Kevin Aviance, and Martha Wash. Other special guests taking part in the event included Vinnie Brown of Naughty By Nature, Wilson Cruz, Alan Cumming, Power 105's Egypt, "106 & Park's" Free, poet Shailja Patel, Rosie Perez, and Jai Rodriguez. "Move Against AIDS is an innovative way to raise awareness and re-invigorate our response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. We are honored that these world-class entertainers have united to reach out and inspire a new generation of AIDS activists," said Move Against AIDS Producer Craig R. Miller of MZA Events.

As special thanks for their star support, each artist was presented with a glamorous gift bag by Klein Creative Communications to help them dance the night away.
