SINister Records Expands Services to Underground Artists

Seattle-based SINister Records expands to offer a wider range of unique distribution services to independent bands

(PRWEB) January 6, 2005 -- Seattle-based SINister Records has just unveiled their freshly re-vamped website, complete with Forums which provide dark-alternative musicians and other interested parties a place to stop by for answers to all their questions about the label and its newly established distribution service for independent underground artists.

Since setting up shop in September 2002 as a vessel for the release of the debut album by The Sins, an underground Seattle band, SINister Records ( http://www.sinisterrecords.com ) has been slowly but steadily growing and expanding its services to independent artists in the underground music community. Catering primarly to gothic, industrial and dark-alternative artists, the label has over the past 2 years amassed a great deal of attention, support and positive press for its bands from DJs, magazines, music journalists and scene supporters both in the U.S. and abroad.

In addition to its small roster of signed artists, SINister has launched a unique distribution service for bands with self-released material that are not signed to the label. CDs by these hand-picked independent artists are not simply placed for sale on the label's website, but are distributed through larger online retailers such as Amazon.com and promoted to DJs, radio stations and music publications. Artists are also provided industry contacts with which they can do their own promotion - essentially helping independent underground artists to better help themselves. This groundbreaking service for indie bands is beneficial to both label and artist. The limited representation frees up label resources and at the same time enables artists to attain more widespread exposure than they'd likely accomplish on their own, while still retaining control of their music and remaining truly independent.

With its roster of ambitious indie artists and innovative approach to supporting underground talent, SINister Records will undoubtedly be a company to watch in 2005 and beyond.
