Modern-day Slavery is Organized Crime Under Our Very Nose

Organized crime is spreading modern-day slavery throughout our communities and masking it in a way that we may not recognize victims or associated activities. We must all work aggressively to educate and pressure authorities, identify and try to rescue victims, carry out surveillance to apprehend and prosecute perpetrators, and push for checks and balances to end corruption.

(PRWEB) January 9, 2005 -- There is much more that news reporters and the rest of the public need to know and publicize about modern-day slavery than what we are currently hearing.

It's not just immigrants who are being victimized. It is being done to locals within our communities, often by local hoods many of us have known for years. My Love, Dave, was abducted before my eyes in August 2002, into total control of traffickers and became one of the many, many victims, just within our community, of modern-day slavery. This was/is here, in the US, in a "quaint" New England area. The growth, within the area, of the world's two largest casinos seems to be contributing to this problem, but it is happening in possibly every community, now, throughout the world.

Even though we are starting to hear recognition that this is "organized crime," the implications and dynamics of all of that is not being recognized and publicized, yet must be in order to bring about the changes needed to fight what amounts to a war against this domestic terrorism, the "battle on the homefront."

In tracing what authorities have done in response to attempts to get them to investigate the situation we have here, it is evident that they, also, are not fully recognizing that this is "organized crime" in all of the implications and dynamics that that entails. This includes federal agencies right up to the office of FBI Director Mueller. That is very evident in an FOI package received from that office, #0993702-000.

Individuals must realize that there are no government forces fighting this battle on the homefront. We are it. The enemy is very strong, highly sophisticated, has access to and uses even unconventional weapons and has the use of the tremendous revenue that is generated by this crime and the other crimes in which it is involved. It's criminal networks span the world and infiltrates or coerces every area it needs to promote and protect it's activity, including in preventing or sabotaging investigation. In essence, it is carrying out a reign of terror.

In the meantime, we are only beginning to scratch the surface of awareness. This war requires quick and drastic action if we hope to ever win it. It requires participation of almost every individual. We must all work aggressively to educate and pressure authorities, identify and try to rescue victims, carry out surveillance activities to apprehend and prosecute perpetrators, and push for checks and balances to end corruption.
