Kognito Interactive, an award-winning training simulations and games company in New York City, will discuss the future of computer simulations in leadership and communications training at an event organized by the NYC chapter of the American Society for Training and Development on Thursday, Feb. 12.

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 5, 2009 -- Kognito Interactive, an award-winning training simulations and games company in New York City, will discuss the future of computer simulations in leadership and communications training at an event organized by the NYC chapter of the American Society for Training and Development on Thursday, Feb. 12.

"Because of globally dispersed learners, a growing demand for leadership skills, and an increasing need to link training to behavior, simulation-based training has become an instrumental component of well-rounded learning and development programs," said Kognito's Chief Learning Architect Ralph Vacca, who will be presenting at the event, along with Kognito's Director of Applied Research Dr. Glenn Albright. "We want to help training professionals understand how simulations can play a role in the changing landscape of training by providing web-based practice experiences that are key to creating behavioral change."

The presentation will focus on opportunities, challenges, and future trends for simulation-based soft-skills training. Vacca and Albright will also discuss the simulation development process and common distribution methodologies, using examples of simulations currently on the market.

The event will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pfizer's Conference Facility at 150 E. 42nd St. Registration and networking begin at 5:30. Attendees can register by visiting the events page of the ASTD NYC chapter website: http://www.astdny.org/events.asp.

About Kognito
