Holiday Home Sales and Rentals Buck the Trend in Travel and Tourism Industry Sales and rental of holiday or vacation real estate are booming on the Internet as users flock to view properties abroad from the comfort of their own homes. (PRWEB) January 15, 2005 -- The toursit boom may be slowing down in many areas, but for properties abroad, the market continues to rise with unprecedented demand for private holiday homes ranging from apartments to luxury villas.
One UK based web site launched last year is seeing a consistent rise in numbers of visitors and is turning those visitors into cash.
"People are sick of the hard sell" Says David Carter, owner of PrivateVilla.co.uk. "So, they turn to the Internet and search for the deal that looks right for them. By dealing with smaller, local companies, they are able to find the correct property for them - not simply what a sales person wants to sell them".
Carter's site might not be unique, but his style is refreshing. He allows all holiday property owners to advertise free and doesn't even charge a commission on rentals.
In addition, he advertises properties for sale on behalf of local companies, making sure that there is no competition in any given area. To date, he has successfully introduced clients in Florida, USA, Cyprus and Spain.
His experience is mirrored by other companies who are now seeing record numbers of people making enquiries for holiday homes on the net.
He believes that the next hotspot to be in the Balcans, particularly Bulgaria, but to date has had difficulty in locating a property company that meets his exacting standards for customer care.
Whilst the travel industry remains under pressure, the growth of the private owner and pricate rental market is looking forward to yet another boom year.
