A Loveland Tradition Celebrates Its 20th Year; Judging The Annual Loveland Business Team Poetry Contest

(PRWEB) February 3, 2005 -- Winners selected during this judging session will be announced at the Loveland Business Team Sweetheart Celebration on Sunday, February 13th, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at The Rialto Theater, 228 East Fourth Street, Loveland.

This long-time local event is part of the Loveland Chamber of Commerce 2004 Sweetheart City Celebration. There is no fee to enter, and the event is open to all ages. Poets were asked to submit poems on any subject, and were not restricted to any theme. Entries were due January 31st. See rules below for details.

Entry forms were available at www.coloradotown.com., www.lovelandbusinessteam.com, and in the Reporter-Herald, and will be distributed to students at schools throughout Loveland, Campion and Berthoud. A winner and selected runners-up will be recognized in each age category: 6-8 years, 9-11 years, 12-14 years, 15-18 years, 19-49 years and 50 and over.

The public, all entrants and their families are cordially invited to attend the award ceremony on February 13th and enjoy refreshments and entertainment. Winners will read their poetry and receive a printed, framed copy of their work. Winning entries will be exhibited at the Loveland Public Library, and published in the Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald and at www.allaboutloveland.com and www.lovelandbusinessteam.com.

Contest Rules

Contest is open to residents of the greater Loveland area.

An entry form must accompany each entry.

Poems must be no longer than 14 lines.

All poems must be original, unpublished works

Entries must be postmarked or received by midnight January 31, 2004

About Loveland Business Team

Loveland Business Team is a non-profit organization. It is a networking group of businesses based in Loveland with members from all over northern Colorado interested in friendship, community service, fun and networking. The group evolved from several different organizations that originated more than 20 years ago in Loveland.

LBTs mission statement is a non-profit group formed by businesses, teamed together to network, grow and contribute back to the community." The group is involved in many community events, and sponsors an annual poetry contest and reception. LBT service projects include donations to groups such as the House of Neighborly Services, Project Self-sufficiency, baskets for needy families during the holidays, scholarships, the Police Fair, Young Women of the West, Prom-O-Rama, Spell-A-Thon, Odyssey of the Minds, the Campion Choir, the Boys and Girls Clubs and many more.

LBT meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Most meetings are held at Dorothys Catering at 2248 West First Street in Loveland. Lunch at Dorothys is $7.50 per person. Dues are $50 per year, and members pay nothing to attend regular monthly meetings. Guests pay $5 per meeting.
