Tangosol, Inc. Announces Coherence 3.0 Pre-Release

Tangosol, Inc., leaders in providing solutions to ensure high availability and reliability for high-scale J2EE applications, today announced the general availability of Tangosol Coherence 3.0 pre-release. We are extremely pleased to make available this first pre-release of Coherence 3.0. The new features and enhancements introduced in this build include Coherence Management Framework, Standard logging support, Coherence*Web Installer enhancements, and Coherence JMS Adapter enhancements.

We are extremely pleased to make available this first pre-release of Coherence 3.0. The following new features and enhancements are introduced in this build: Coherence Management Framework Coherence 3.0 Management Framework introduces the capability to monitor virtually all cache settings and statistics for Coherence caches and services at runtime utilizing the standard JMX interface. Coherence Management Framework makes it possible to view and manage Coherence operational parameters and cache statistics through any JMX-based client console product or development framework. Standard logging support

Coherence 3.0 adds support for standard Java Logging (a.k.a. JSR 47) and Apache log4j. These additional logging destinations make it easier than ever to integrate Coherence into environments that standardize on these logging implementations. For more information, please refer to the logging-config section in the "Coherence Operational Configuration deployment descriptor elements" reference of the updated User Guide, located in the doc directory of the pre-release download.

Coherence*Web Installer enhancements

The fully automated Coherence*Web installation facility in Coherence 3.0 now uses server-specific configuration presets to install the Coherence*Web module, completely eliminating the previously necessary manual configuration step. Additionally, the application inspection step now preserves any custom changes to the configuration descriptor. For more information, please refer to the "Installing Coherence*Web Session Management Module" reference of the updated User Guide, located in the doc directory of the pre-release download.

Coherence JMS Adapter enhancements

Coherence JMS Adapter now supports full synchronization of the non-clustered client with the remote clustered cache over JMS.We welcome your feedback on the software as well as the updated examples, Release Notes, User Guide and JavaDoc included with the Coherence 3.0 pre-release software download.
