
One Millionth Common Application Submitted Online The Common Application, Inc, announced today that Ben Hixon of Reno, NV, was the millionth applicant to apply online since the inception of the Common App Online six years ago. Hixon is a senior at Galena High School in Reno and submitted the millionth application to Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, PA. Reston, VA (PRWEB) February 9, 2005 The Common Application, Inc, announced today that Ben Hixon of Reno, NV, was the millionth applicant to apply online since the inception of the Common App Online seven years ago. Hixon is a senior at Galena High School in Reno and submitted the millionth application to Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, PA. ÂWeÂre thrilled for Ben, and thrilled that the Common App Online reached this milestone so quickly, commented Rob Killion, the Executive Director of the Common Application organization. In its inaugural year of 1998, 1,246 applications were submitted via the Common App Online. This year approximately 30,000 applications were submitted on December 31st alone, and more than 425,000 applications were submitted overall. The Common Application is a non-profit membership organization founded 30 years ago in 1975. It provides a single undergraduate admission application that applicants may use at any of the Common AppÂs 255 member institutions. The application is available in printed form as well as online.
